Tifway Bermuda, the classic warm season turf. It's genetically far behind Tiftuf, but widely used for the past 60 years due to being the best of it's era. Good ol' 419 bermuda has been the most popular southern turfgrass for 60 years for good reason. Wear tolerant, sun loving turf that survives drought well.

Tifway 419 produces a dark green, fine bladed warm season turf that is actively growing May through September in our area. It goes dormant in the winter like all warm season turf types. It requires near full sun, and a fair amount of fertilizer and mowing to look its best. Insects and disease are rarely an issue with good drainage and proper care. Tifway 419 is very drought tolerant, however it will begin to lose color as drought begins. It will recover when moisture is available.
